Adventure between desert and ancestral heritage

Set off on an extraordinary adventure in the Danakil desert and towards the ethnic groups of the Omo valley.

The Danakil, also known as the Afar Depression, is one of the most fascinating and extreme places on Earth. Located in the northeastern region of Ethiopia, it is characterized by a lunar landscape and extreme environmental conditions.
Visitors to Danakil are greeted by a surreal landscape of salt lakes, lava fields, hot springs and multi-colored mountains. The region is also home to one of the most active volcanoes in the world, Erta Ale, which shoots glowing lava into the air, creating an ambiance that is both eerie and captivating.

Due to its high temperatures and harsh environment, Danakil is often described as one of the most inhospitable places on Earth. However, it is precisely this unforgiving nature that makes it so intriguing to intrepid travelers seeking adventure and discovery.
A visit to Danakil offers an extraordinary experience, where you literally feel transported to another planet. It's a place that defies expectations and leaves an indelible imprint on the minds of those who want to venture there.

The lush banks of the Omo River, which runs through the valley, provide the backdrop for scenes from the daily lives of local tribes. The cultures of these communities are marked by distinctive artistic practices, colorful ritual ceremonies and remarkable traditional costumes.

The surrounding landscapes, ranging from savannahs to mountains to river valleys, complement the cultural richness of the Omo Valley, creating a captivating blend of wilderness and human traditions. A visit to this region offers an unforgettable experience and a deep dive into the ethnic diversity and natural beauty of Ethiopia.

An original combination that transports you to two different and particularly enriching worlds.
