Women wear lip trays Made from ceramic or wood, signs of beauty. As for the men, they participate in Donga ceremonies, which are traditional rituals involving wrestling competitions. These ceremonies are of great cultural and social importance within the Surma community.

Arrival in Addis Ababa and head west towards Jimma. En route, you will discover the beautiful Gurage and Oromo villages. You pass through the beautiful and picturesque Gibe River gorge. After crossing the coffee and khat plantations, you will arrive at Jimma.
Jimma was the capital of the former Keffa province. It was in this region that coffee beans were first discovered by a shepherd.

Road to Kibish via Mizan Teferi through dense and beautiful forest. The people living in this area are the Kefecho, and the Yem and Bench ethnic groups. This place is famous throughout the country for coffee, tea and spices.

Three full days in Suri territory (surma) you will visit several villages and be able to take photos of these flower people who like to adorn themselves with the elements of nature.
You will be able to appreciate the culture and the very particular way of life of these people.
You may be able to attend a Donga (stick fight). Please note that these fights which can lead to death are prohibited in Ethiopia but still practiced.
You will go to the herds to experience an astonishing tradition!
