The first days of this journey will transport you to the Danakil desert to meet the Afar people and the last salt caravans. You will follow in the footsteps of your Afar guide through the multi-colored basins of Dallol and climb the Erta Ale volcano.
Night camping
You will continue towards Awash and the beautiful Harar, the holy city of Islam. Harar is very different from other cities in Ethiopia, it is made up of cobbled streets forming a labyrinth where we love to get lost to discover the traditional Harari houses with their multicolored facades.
The evening is punctuated by the hyena meal, a tradition passed down from generation to generation.
Night in hotel and guesthouse.
Direction the south of Ethiopia in the Omo valley where you will make a first stop at Arbaminch. There you will meet the Dorze people known for their weaving, their houses in the shape of a beehive or an elephant depending on your imagination and for the cultivation of Enset also called false banana tree.
A short boat trip on Lake Chamo to admire African crocodiles and many species of birds.
