This pilgrimage is one of the most important in Africa and constitutes a unique spiritual and cultural experience for travelers.

Sheikh Hussein was a Sufi saint who lived in the 15th century. He is credited with many miracles, including healing the sick and causing water to spring from the ground. He died in 1450 and his shrine became an important place of pilgrimage for Muslims, Christians and animists from Ethiopia and neighboring countries.
